Dermaplaning is a form of manual exfoliation. This procedure does not use any suction, abrasive crystals, or brushes. A sterile, surgical blade is stroked along the skin to remove unwanted dead skin cells and excess hair. What should I expect after a dermaplaning treatment?

It is not uncommon to have redness for 2-3 hours after the treatment. Minor abrasions may appear a few days after the treatment. If you do another treatment such as a chemical peel following your dermaplaning, your skin may have more irritation, mild discomfort, or tenderness. It is important to use a SPF 30 or greater sunscreen following treatment.
